Masoor Beans Curry, Bhendi Stir Fry, Kakdi Koshimbir, and Allergy Free Delights – Jowar Bhakari & Foxtail Millet Rice Recipes

In this new series we are going to solve our daily problem and make quick and nutritious menu options. So lets ask the question “Khane mein kya hain?” 

Today we are making Masoor beans curry, Bhendi stir fry and kakdi koshimbir. We will serve it with gluten free Jowar bhakari and foxtail millet rice.

☒sesame

☒fish

Masoor Curry – 

Ingredients  

  1. Whole Masoor – sprouted – 1 cups
  2. Onion – finely chopped – 1
  3. Tomato – finely chopped – 1
  4. Vegetable oil – 1 TBSP
  5. Mustard seeds – 1 TSP
  6. Cumin seeds – 1 TSP
  7. Hing powder – 1/4 Tsp
  8. Turmeric powder – 1 Tsp
  9. Red Chilli powder – 1 Tsp
  10. Kala Masala / Garam Masala – 2 Tsp
  11. Jaggery – 1 Tsp
  12. Garlic – 3-4 cloves
  13. Salt to taste.
  14. Water – 1 and ½ cups
  15. Cilantro – finely chopped for serving.

Method – 

  1. Heat a Pan on medium flame. Once hot add oil. Once the oil is hot mustard seeds, once they splutter, add cumin seeds and hing powder. Add crushed garlic and sauté them till they turn golden. Add Onions and sauté till they turn translucent. Add tomatoes and salt to taste sauté till they turn mushy.
  2. Add turmeric powder , chili powder, goda masala. Mix well and sauté for another 2-3 minutes.
  3. Add sprouted masoor. Mix well. Add water to adjust consistency. Also add the jaggery. Cover and let it cook till the lentils cook. Garnish with finely chopped cilantro.

Bhindi Stir Fry – 

Ingredients  

  1. Bhindi / Okra – Medium -15-20 – cut into small pieces
  2. Vegetable Oil – 2 TBSP
  3. Garlic – crushed – 2 cloves
  4. Hing Powder – ½ Tsp
  5. Red chilli powder – 1 Tsp
  6. Turmeric powder – 1 Tsp
  7. Lemon juice – 1 TBSP
  8. Salt to taste
  9. Coriander leaves, chopped – for Garnishing

Method – 

  1. In a pan , heat 2 TBSP oil on medium heat. Once hot , add hing powder and crushed garlic. Sauté for a minute. Add the cut bhindi. Sauté for 3-4 minutes. Add lemon juice and sauté for another 4-5 minutes.
  2. Add dry masalas , turmeric powder , red chili powder and salt to taste. Mix well and saute for another 5-6 minutes , till the bhindi gets a nice crispy texture. Garnish with finely chopped cilantro.

Kakadi Koshimbir – 

1. For kakdi koshimbir , I just took grated cucmber and add 1 Tsp sugar and salt to taste.
