  • 1-2 Boiled Potatoes
  • 1 finely chopped Onion
  • ½ Tsp Turmeric powder

  • 1 Tsp Chat masala
  • 1 Tsp Jaggery powder
  • Fresh Cilantro for garnish
  • Salt to taste

Method:

 

  1. Soak Tamarind: In a bowl, add the tamarind and 1 cup of water. Soak the tamarind for 2-3 hours until it softens.
  2. Prepare the Base: In a separate bowl, add boiled and mashed potatoes. Mix in the finely chopped onion, turmeric powder, red chili powder, cumin seeds powder, chat masala, and salt to taste.
  3. Extract Tamarind Pulp: Sieve the soaked tamarind to extract the concentrate, ensuring no tamarind pieces are included. Add this tamarind concentrate to the potato mixture to create a delicious onion and tamarind chutney.
  4. Sweeten the Chutney: Add jaggery powder to the mixture and mix well. This will turn it into an instant sweet chutney.
  5. Adjust Consistency: Add water to achieve the desired consistency. Start with 1 cup of water and adjust as needed. This instant tamarind chutney should be smooth and flavorful.
