Ingredients: For Vegan Poha Chivda Recipe

  1. Poha thin - 2 cups
  2. Vegetable oil - 1/4 cup
  3. Dry coconut slices - thin - 1/4  cup
  4. Dalia - Split roasted chickpeas - 1/4  cup
  5. Mustard seeds - 1 TSP
  6. Hing / Asafoetida powder - 1/4  TSP
  7. Green Chilies - roughly chopped - 4-5
  8. Curry leaves - 10-15
  9. Coriander - Cumin seeds powder - 1 TBSP
  10. Turmeric powder - 1 TSP
  11. Raisins - 1 TBSP
  12. Sugar - 1 TSP
  13. Salt to taste.

How to Make Homemade Vegan Poha Chivda Recipe Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. Dry roast the poha on medium to low flame till they are nice crispy. Make sure that they do not change colour or get burnt.
  2. In a pan add vegetable oil, deep fry the coconut slices till they turn golden brown. Don't over do otherwise they get a burnt flavor. Add the fried coconut slices to poha.
  3. In the same oil fry the dalia , till they turn golden brown. Add them to poha too.
  4. In the same oil , add mustard seeds. Once they splutter add hing powder. Add green chillies and saute them till they turn crisp. Add curry leaves and saute them well.
  5. Add the coriander cumin seeds powder. Mix well and saute nicely till it releases aroma.
  6. Add turmeric powder and switch off the gas. Mix well.
  7. In the poha add raisins, salt and sugar Mix well.
  8. Add the tempering to poha and mix well. Make sure all the poha flakes are well coated with tempering.
