Ingredients For Vegan Moong Dal Chilla

  1. Moong Dal - soaked for 4-5 hours - 1/2 cup
  2. Ginger - 1/2 inch
  3. Green chilies - 2-3
  4. Cilantro - finely chopped
  5. Onion - finely chopped - 1
  6. Coriander seeds powder - 1 Tsp
  7. Cumin seeds powder - 1 Tsp
  8. Turmeric powder - 1 Tsp
  9. Salt to taste
  10. Water to adjust the consistency.
  11. Vegetable oil - 1 -2 TBSP

How To makae Vegan Moong Dal chilla -

  1. Wash and soak the moong dal overnight or for at least 4-5 hours.
  2. Add the soaked dal in a grinder jar , add ginger , green chilies , Add 1-2 TBSP water and grind into a smooth paste.
  3. Add onion and cilantro. Add coriander - cumin seeds powder , turmeric powder and salt to taste and mix well. Get the batter to pancake like consistency.
  4. Heat a skillet on medium heat. Pour a spoonful of batter . Cook for 2-3 minutes or till it gets a nice golden color . Add a few drops of oil on top. Flip and cook from the other side for 2-3 minutes. Remove from the skillet.
  5. Serve hot with your choice of chutney , pickle or ketchup.
