Ingredients for Rava Bread

  1. Rava / Suji - Fine - 3.5 cups
  2. Non dairy milk / water - warm - 1 + 1/2 cup
  3. Sugar - 2 Tsp
  4. Yeast - 2 + 1/4 Tsp
  5. Salt - 1 + 1/2 Tsp
  6. Olive oil - 3 TBSP

How To Make Vegan Rava Bread Step By Step Instructions

  1. In a bowl, add 1/2 cup warm non-dairy milk or warm water, sugar, and yeast.
  2. Mix well and set aside for 10 minutes. Place the fine rava or suji in a blender jar and pulse it 3-4 times to achieve a fine texture.
  3. If you cannot find fine rava, regular rava can be used; simply pulse it into a fine powder.
  4. Add all the rava to the yeast mixture and knead for at least 10 minutes until you obtain a nice soft dough.
  5. Incorporate 3 TBSP vegetable oil and knead for another 5 minutes. Cover the dough and let it rest for at least an hour.
  6. The dough will approximately double in size. Knead it again and grease a 9-inch bread pan with oil.
  7. Knead the dough once more, roll it, and place it in the bread pan.
  8. Cover and let it rest for an additional 15-20 minutes, or until the dough rises to the brim of the pan.
  9. Preheat the oven to 420 degrees Fahrenheit. Brush the top of the dough with non-dairy milk and bake for 20 minutes.
  10. After baking, brush with vegetable oil, cover with a moist cloth, and set aside for 20 minutes. Now, relish in the pleasure of freshly baked, warm, homemade bread loaf.
