Ingredients For Matar Amti Recipe
- Fresh green peas - 1 cup
- Onion - finely chopped - 1
- Tomato - finely chopped - 1
- Vegetable oil - 1 TBSP
- Mustard seeds - 1 TSP
- Cumin seeds - 1 TSP
- Hing powder - 1/4 Tsp
- Turmeric powder - 1 Tsp
- Red Chilli powder - 1 Tsp
- Kala Masala / Garam Masala - 1 TBSP
- Freshly grated coconut - ? cup
- Ginger-garlic paste - 1 TBSP
- Salt to taste
- Water - 2 cups
Method -
- Heat a Pan on medium flame. Once hot add oil.Add mustard seeds, once they splutter , add cumin seeds and hing powder.
- Add Onions and saute till they turn translucent. Add Ginger-garlic paste and saute for 2-3 minutes.
- Add tomatoes and saute till they turn mushy.
- Add turmeric powder , chilli powder, goda masala , salt to taste.Mix well and saute for another 2-3 minutes.
- Add the grinded coconut. Mix well.
- Add green peas. Mix well.
- Add water to adjust consistency . Cover and cook on medium flame for 8-10 minutes.
- Serve hot with roti or rice.
