Is your child allergic to dairy, non-vegetarian, or egg-related foodstuffs? Accordingly, are you looking for healthy vegan recipes to avoid those allergies yet fulfill your child’s nutritional needs? Then, these five vegan recipes can help a bit.

Note: These vegan recipes for children are only a general idea. For a vegan recipe specific to address your child’s allergy, consulting a doctor can help.

1. Pohe/Poha

Pohe or poha is a traditionally popular Indian breakfast cuisine. Many kids love eating poha and, in fact, prefer them in place of chapati and cooked vegetables.

You can prepare a range of poha recipes like Batata Poha, Kanda Batata Poha, etc., to serve a delicious vegan breakfast for your child. Mixed sprout poha is another healthier alternative to Batata Poha.

Sprouts consist of enzymes that enhance digestion. The sprouted seed forms a rich source of vitamin C, E, A, K, and B-complex.

2. Stuffed Spinach Paratha

This is another healthy vegan option – tasty and nutritious. Spinach is a source of fibers, proteins, vitamins A, C, K, potassium, iron, and folate. Creating a meal with some pickles can make the recipe even more delicious and sumptuous for the child.

3. Lehsuni Matki Palak Tikki

Loaded with nutrition, Lehsuni Matki Palak Tikki is an innovative and prudent alternative when it comes to vegan recipes for children. Sprouted matki contains fiber, protein, magnesium, phosphorus, calcium, etc. On the other hand, the Tikki makes it a delectable and handy-dandy snack that your child may love. Serving it with some carrots as an accompaniment can further add to its nutritional value.

4. Stuffed Idli

Idli is considered one of the best breakfast items in India. But stuffed idli can make this traditional south Indian delicacy even more exciting and nutritious.

Stuffed idli is idli stuffed with vegetables, where you steam the batter with a stuffing of mixed vegetables sauteed with a traditional tempering. It is a fantastic delicacy that’s soft, aromatic, and tasty and which your child may happily consume. Serve it with Sambhar and white coconut chutney to make it even more delicious.

5. Broccoli Soup

You may also want to try some cream of broccoli soup. Broccoli is a source of calcium, zinc, niacin, iron, phosphorus, riboflavin, etc. So, serving broccoli soup in the beginning, can enhance the nutritional value of your child’s meal.
